Primary baryte refers to the first marketable product, which includes raw barite and the products after primarily beneficiation operations, such as washing, jigging, heavy media separation, tabling, flotation. Most crude baryte requires some processing to minimum purity or density.
Barite which is applied as an aggregate in a “heavy” cement is crushed and screened to a uniform size. Most baryte is ground to a small, fine powders before it is used as a filler or extender, an addition to industrial products, or a weighting agent in petroleum well drilling mud.
Barite Crushing Machine
Crushing is the integral step in barite processing operation. It generally can be processed in three stages: primary, secondary and tertiary crushing operations, to produce different particle sizes.
Jaw crusher, impact crusher, or gyratory crushers are usually used for primary size reduction. The crusher product, normally 7.5 to 30 cm in diameter.
After primary crushing, the stone that is too large to pass through the vibrating screen will be crushed in the secondary crusher. Cone crushers or impact crushers are commonly used for secondary crushing, which typically reduces material to about 2.5 to 10 cm.
Oversize material from the top deck of the sizing screen is fed to the tertiary cone crusher. The crusher output, which is typically about 0.50 to 2.5 cm.
